Spring has Sprung
on the Dart Farm
Mom’s Star Magnolia tree was blooming early because of the incredibly warm weeks we have had this March quickly bringing on the spring flowers!
The kitchen dooryard is bright with blooms, and the beef cows enjoy some early green pasture. The crabapples will blossom soon!
Jonathan’s Katahdin/Dorper ewes are giving birth to playful lambs.
The geese are flying over in huge numbers with that honking that fills the sky with the promise of a new season begun. Dad and Mom have been out watching the eagles on their nest over at the Refuge. One early spring chore here is pruning the grapevines.
Fritz and Randy are so happy to be out and about with lots to see and do. Fritz’s smile is perpetual, and Randy sneaks out on long walks exploring. Does he look guilty?
Yep, and guess who’s back at the volley ball net?
Lots of exercise, laughter and fun with friends in the sunshine.
In the wisteria arbor the row of Adirondack chairs Dad has made are ready for folks to gather and enjoy chatting by the campfire.
The sun sets behind our favorite Oak tree.
Rather hard to capture is a glimpse of the planets Venus and Jupiter in the evening sky with their friend the moon. How amazing is our universe, so awesome, makes one feel very small and insignificant. Makes you want to sing “How Great Thou Art”!
One last shot, the Amaryllis plant I have kept going for several years, this year sent up 3 stalks of these colorful flowers! So pretty!
