MacDonalds

Well, this post is a little late as we have been gone camping last week, but here it is...
For the past 9 months we had been looking forward to August 14th. A family we saw in concert last year were coming back in the area and were going to stay over at our house. The MacDonald family sing a variety of styles from blugrass to soprano solos, yodeling, brass, and more! We really enjoyed their concert. You can go to their website and download music from their two CD's.

A song I would really recommend is "Mommy Can't You Hear Me" from the CD "Power In The Blood". God gave the words to Bonnie to sing about abortion from the baby's perspective.

Bonnie singing "Mommy Can't You Hear Me".

After the concert, the MacDonalds came over to our house where we had things all set up for a hotdog roast. We had invited a few other families also and we all gathered outside in our arbor that was lighted with icicle lights and our big pig roaster was filled with hot dogs. There were several different kinds of salads. I didn't take any pictures of it, but believe me, it was really good! =)

After a good meal, the MacDonalds and the Pollocks pulled out their instruments and started to jam. It was really neat!

Some of the Pollocks.

Daddy got all the girls together to sing, but I don't remember what song it was.

Jamming

Chatting...

Then we got all the men to sing "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God". That sounded really neat in the mens voices!

We didn't end up getting to bed till 1am. Goodmorning everyone! =)

The next morning, I woke up bright and early for such a late night - 7:00am! And guess what! The MacDonalds had a early morning vistor, too!

Anyone up yet?

Daddy asked the boys if they had any knives they wanted sharpened...knives started appearing out of nowhere! Some of the boys had at least two knives with several blades each. They sure kept Daddy busy!=)

We were glad to find out that the MacDonalds love volleyball like us. We had some pretty good games.

YAY!!

Nathan is concentrating very hard on the ball and Amadu is all ready in case Nathan misses!

"SERVICE!" and Carol punches the ball!

Before they left at "tooth-hurty" Carol wanted to take a group picture. To see that and other pictures you can go to their blog.

It was really neat getting to know them and we are looking forward to seeing them again!
GOODBYE!!

We loved spending time with your precious family, but the time was too short. Thank you for inviting us for the fun, music, food and sweet fellowship. We hope it wasn't the last time we see you!:) We enjoyed meeting the Macdonalds, also.

Love you all,

Carol, thank you for your complement, but I think my determination far exceeded my amount of patience. I had to upload all the pictures 3 different times!
Brocketts, we are so glad you were able to come and that you like living next to your crazy neighbors!=)
