Sunny...

One of my favorite things about spring is the cheery sunshine. It is so warm and happy making you warm and happy and able to feel better about things then you can on a cloudy rainy day.





Isn't it nice that we can have sunshine even on those dreary, drizzling, cloudy days? How?

"What sunshine is to flowers,

Smiles are to humanity.

They are trifles, to be sure,

But scattered along life's pathway,

The good they do is inconceivable."

Joseph Addison

A person's face can carry sunshine and joy to all who see it and can scatter untold clouds. For,

"Good temper, like a sunny day, sheds a brightness over everything; it is the sweetener of toil and the soother of disquietude." Washington Irving

Smiles and gladness are like sweet peas, in that the more you gather and give away the more you have. Leave your sweet peas on the vines, and the flowers are soon gone; but gather them closely each day and they will blossom the more and last the summer through. So save your smiles for special occasions, when there are joys abroad, and you will nearly run out of them altogether, but give them out at every opportunity and the joy-vines of your heart will thrive and grow.

Let us be dispensers of joy as we go through life, smiling and glad for Christ is ours and we have hope for eternity. Try catching the eye of someone who is looking sad and out of sorts and meeting their look with a smile, and see if it will not soon answer back in their face.

God smiles on all who are willing to carry His smiles on to others.
