Saturday morning, Ben and I took our neighbor girls and a friend sledding on the hill out back. We like to sled on the other side of the hedgerow because the wind creates some really nice drifts there.
This is looking over the hedgerow at our pastures up to the neighbors brush lot.
There were some small drifts that created some fantastic jumps. We jumped over one jump just in time to fly off the next one. Some years, when we get a lot of snow there are drifts that are higher than my head! They are fun to ski down.

There was a crust of ice all over where the wind had blown away the fresh snow. We tried sliding without the sleds and it worked pretty good. : )
Adama loved taking some of these pictures - especially this one.
Clara was thrilled with the sledding and would scream all the way down the hill and laugh all the way back up. She had so much fun! : )
The cornstalks provided nice traction on the slippery walk up.

Over the weekend, the snow has mostly melted and we have seen several robins back from the south. But as I look outside now, there is more snow whirling down with the wind. Maybe we will have another chance to go sledding yet this year.
We used to have a team of draft horses and one of out favorite things to do was hitch them up to the sleigh. The boys would tie our sleds to the back and off we went for a ride. We had a string of bells to put on them and it sounded so pretty as they trotted through the clean white snow.

You guys are so lucky! I grew up in Northern Ohio and we always had snow. Down here in TN, we almost NEVER have snow, and when we do it's not enough to go sledding!
