Introducing....

SNUFFLESWORTH

In the middle of December, on a sunny afternoon, we were excitedly waiting for Dad and the boys to come home with Becky's new pet. Extraordinary looking pet as you can see by Adama's face!

Can you guess what it is?

If you guessed an alpaca, you're right!!!

We couldn't help but just stand there and laugh when Snufflesworth came out and looked around on new territory. His old friends were a minature horse, and a couple pygmy goats. We were getting him as a friend for our pygmy goat. It defenitely wasn't the goat's idea of a companion! As soon as the alpaca saw the goat, he was all excited and happy to see her. The goat, however, tried to climb up Jonathan's shoulder.

We put them in the shed and Snufflesworth hummed and grunted trying to get accquainted with the goat, but she didn't want anything to do with him. Instead, she hid in the corner.

Alpacas are in the camel family. Here he is "cushing".

Ah, so relaxful.

He loves to eat the finer parts of the hay and he pushes it around making a hole.

The Caprio's enjoyed feeding him apple peels and the goat snuck around for a few bites. We told them to keep it a secret from the Brocketts as we wanted to surprise them at our Christmas Eve service.

We decorated the barn and then brought the goat and alpaca to the hay mow a little bit before the Brocketts came.

Adama was the first one through the door and that's when we got her perfect expression. =)

It was fun listening to Snufflesworth humming while we were singing and reading scripture.

We like to sometimes bring him in the house to surprise company. Christmas day, we had the Merles over and it was great fun to show them the alpaca!

Becky took a Christmas picture with her new friend.

Now the goat and Snufflesworth are great buddies and if you try to take Snuffles anywhere without the goat he will get mad and even spit at you! All you have to do is lead the goat around and he will follow. =)

He loves to see new people if they bring snacks for him, otherwise he feels slighted.
